“The Upside of Bipolar: Seven Steps to Heal Your Disorder; A Research-Based, Integrated Method for Healing and Recovery” by Michelle Reittinger
Michelle has made guest appearances on the following podcasts to talk about her experience living a healthy and productive life while healing bipolar.
Episode #192.
I so loved this talk with Michelle because she has a very clear and profound message around the narrative related to the mental health care system and the language around the bipolar diagnosis. Since over the summer of 2023 I have been moving in a new direction with Louder Now and I have been using the language around healing which is something Michelle has been saying to. She is a excellent communicator and I highly suggest you check out her resources on her website related to healing your bipolar. Thank you Michelle for being a guest!
What a great conversation we had today! Michelle is my kind of gal. She is all about taking responsibility, becoming empowered, and an advocate of both nutrition and talk therapy to heal our trauma – a true inspiration to all who listen to this episode.
Michelle Reittinger is a mother, wife, daughter and also a woman who has healed what many would call an unhealable mental illness, that is unless psychotropic drugs are used. Michelle advocates a radical shift in the treatment of bipolar using a research-based, integrated treatment plan to facilitate healing. She does this through public speaking, a podcast called The Upside of Bipolar, a blog, and a program called The Upsiders’ Tribe, where she teaches the steps to heal bipolar. She also has a book coming out in early summer 2024, so stay tuned for that!

From Suffering to Thriving-How to Heal Bipolar Disorder.
We spent time on the creative mind, its tendency towards mental health struggles, and relying on mania to feed the creative muse. I shared that accepting responsibility for yourself and overcoming the victimhood mentality that so often accompanies bipolar disorder is more freeing than mania, and helps artists create more consistently.
We discussed my Simple 7 Protocol, the research-based treatment model that addresses the underlying causes of bipolar symptoms and allows people to heal.
Such a powerful conversation on Truehope Cast. I was so honored to have the opportunity to share the suffering I experienced with psychotropic medications and then the healing and wholeness I found with EMPowerPlus. This treatment saved my life and I will forever be grateful for it!
I had an amazing conversation with Seth on his podcast Healed with Seth the Speaker.
Seth asked me to share details of my experience with bipolar from my initial symptoms and diagnosis to how it impacted my relationships with my husband and children. This was a really powerful conversation because I was able to talk more in depth about the relationship with my husband and how we worked together to find a way for me to live well with bipolar.
I had a wonderful conversation with Saylor Cooper and Tyler Evans on their podcast Hope Without Sight.
They asked me about my story and my experience overcoming my breakdown, hospitalizations, suicide attempts and electroconvulsive therapy. I shared how I learned to proactively manage my mood cycles. I also talk about how I developed an integrated approach to proactively managing my bipolar so that I never experience psychotic episodes anymore and I rarely experience depression.
It was a wonderful discussion and I am so grateful they had me on as a guest.
I had the opportunity recently to be interviewed by Paris Prynkiewicz on her podcast Master Your Mental. In the interview Paris asked me about:
I loved speaking with Paris about how I have learned to live well with bipolar. It was a really amazing conversation. Paris’s mission with her podcast, social media and book are to offer encouragement and hope to others with bipolar disorder and it was an honor to be on her show. Enjoy!
I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Desiree Argentina on her podcast The Wellness Project with Des and it was a wonderful interview. She asked me:
I was so grateful to have the opportunity to speak with Desiree. She asked fantastic questions and we had a very productive conversation about how to successfully navigate diagnosis, relationships and treatment with bipolar disorder.
Desiree is a mental health therapist. Her goal with her podcast and social media is to help others transform their lives by providing actionable and practical steps to live a fulfilled life.
I am excited to share this interview with you!
